DEBS ADORABLES

QUILTING is my favorite past time.  When I get any spare time (which is pretty rare) you will find me in my sewing room. I love all kinds of crafts, but my main sewing passion is designing and making quilts. I will never have enough time to put down all the ideas that are in my head, but I have finished several over the years.

          BABY ANIMAL QUILT

Here are some pictures of a quilt that I made for a special foster baby.
It has 20 blocks, each of a different animal, and the whole alphabet
in the crossbars. Each corner of the quilt has mini butterflies.

This CRAZY QUILT has no rhyme or reason.
The pattern contains any size scrap piece of fabric.
I have made over 20 of these thru out the years.

INDIAN QUILT
The theme for this quilt is the product of a picture from a coloring book.  I wanted to enter a quilt into a contest in their "Indian" category.  I used the picture like a paper doll and cut out the pants, shirt, face, and feathers for a pattern. I hand embroidered the eye-brows, eyes, nose, mouth, hands, and feet. I designed the girl by drawing a skirt and shawl. The girl Indian has real black yarn braided hair. There are 21 sets of Indians that have matching clothes. The boy's pants match the girl's shawl and the boy's shirt matches the girls skirt. I have added an Indian motif embroidered trim to the girl's shawl and the boys pants.  I was disappointed when it was assigned to the appliqué category, rather than the Indian category.

WHITE ON WHITE QUILT
This quilt was made from white blocks that measured 18" by 18" and I took the pinwheel pattern and made a template that I used to hand quilt the design. The blocks were sewn together on the top side by machine.

The back side I joined together by hand.

This is a California King bedspread that I use right now. I made hunter green matching pinwheel throw pillows and curtains, valance, and dust ruffle. I was very pleased with the final look and now I want to do a set in burgundy and a pale blue and then I can change the whole color scheme thru-out the year.

FAMILY "H" QUILT
This is a King Size Quilt that I made for my Dad and Step-Mom.  The center blocks could go together in different ways, and it happened to make an "H" which is appropriate and more personal.  The colors are Peach and Ivory with little blue flowers in the print.  Then I made matching throw pillows, picture frames for their wedding pictures, and a wedding album cover for a lovely ensemble.
